Gretsch New Classic Configurations and Specifications

The Gretsch New Classic drum shells are made of 6ply maple for the toms and 8ply for most bass drums that thickness increases as the shell size gets bigger. The New Classic comes in three pre-configured shell packs two five (5) piece sets and one four piece. The two five piece shell packs include 8×10 and 9×12 mounted toms and 14×14 floor toms, they differ on the bass drum with one being 18×22 and 16×20. The four piece shell pack includes a 14×18 bass drum, an 8×12 mounted tom and a 14×14 floor tom. Additional toms can be purchased including a 7×8 and 10×13, along with 16×16 and 18×18 floor toms. Variations of bass drums include 20×22 and 18×24 sizes.

Gretsch New Classic Snares

The Gretsch New Classic offers two snare variations that feature 10ply maple, die-cast hoops, 30 degree bearing edges, silver sealer interiors, 10 low-mass tube lugs and side pull throw with an adjustable butt plate.

Gretsch New Classic shell packs are priced at $1,600 to $2,400 putting them firmly into the professional drum category. With proportionate maple shells that increase in thickness as the drum size increases they offer a unique tonality and resonance. They have a distinct sound and a vintage look that gives them a high end drum style. With low mass lugs and high quality hardware including the ITS (integrated tom suspension) system and 9025 hinged tom and floor tom leg brackets, the New Classic has everything an up and coming drummer needs.
