Some drummers debate upon the classification of drums as beginner or intermediate, the drums kits below are lines produced by Pearl that are mass produced and come with pre-configured hardware and cymbals.

Rhythm Traveler
The Pearl Rhythm Traveler drum kit is concept drum package designed with shallow drum shells and a compact setup for easy transport to and from gigs and practice. The Rhythm Traveler is a complete five (5) piece set which includes drum shells, hardware, 2ply ProTone heads, 13” hi hats and a 16” crash/ride cymbal. The Rhythm Traveler kit also comes packaged with silent mesh muffle heads and plastic cymbals for quiet practice.
Pearl’s Rhythm Traveler drum shells are made from 9ply Mahogany with the toms and snare designed with a shorter 5 inch depth to save space. The bass drum is also shallow at 8 inches deep. The hardware pack that mounts the Rhythm Traveler kit includes the following:

- S-62W Snare Stand
- H-62W Hi-Hat Stand
- P-62 Bass Drum Pedal
- Two TH-60/B Black Tom Holder

Forum
The Pearl Forum series is one of the most popular beginner kits on the drum market. The Forum Series setup includes everything needed to start drumming including a complete five (5) piece shell pack, matching hardware, three (3) piece cymbal pack, Vic Firth sticks and a drumming instructional DVD.
Pearl Forum series shells are made of 6-ply (7.5mm) Poplar utilizing Pearl’s exclusive Superior Shell Technology (S.S.T.). Packaged with each forum kit is the 790 series hardware pack and Pearl’s CXP-3 Cymbal pack. This combination includes practically everything needed to get up and drumming including a snare stand, boom cymbal stand to mount the 20” ride, straight cymbal stand to mount the 16” crash, a hi-hat stand with 14” hi-hats as well as a drum throne. Available in two preset configurations and four finishes, the Forum drum kit provides a decent amount of options for the beginner drummer. Forum kits can be purchase for $500 to $800 brand new.

Target
The Pearl Target kit is a line of drums made exclusive for the European market. The Target drum shells are made of 6ply basswood and are available in high gloss lacquer or covered finish. The Target kit comes in two fusion and rock configurations and includes hardware as well as CX-200 cymbals.
The Target series drum kit retails for roughly 400 pounds which is approximately $630 US.
