TAMA Imperialstar Set, Snare & Bass Drum Review

The Imperialstar is a mid-range drum series made by TAMA Drums that fits within their beginner and semi-professional drum lines. The Imperialstar comes in several pre-packaged “READY-TO-ROCK” configurations that include Imperialstar hardware, and MEINL HCS cymbals.

TAMA Imperialstar Drum Set

The TAMA Imperialstar is mass produced in Guangzhou, China and is sold in preset drum set packages that includes 100% poplar 6ply shells, accu-tune bass drum hoops, spur brackets, a tom holder, tom brackets, Imperialstar hardware stands, and MEINL HCS cymbals.

The shells are available in Black, Midnight Blue, Vintage Red, as well as Hairline Copper, Black & Gold finishes.

 

TAMA Imperialstar Snare

The TAMA Imperialstar snare is available in three different models. The IMS135 that is 13″ in diameter and 5″ in depth, the IMS145 that is 14″ in diameter and 5″ in depth and the IMS1465 that is 14″ in diameter and 6.5″ in depth. All snares are metal.

 

TAMA Imperialstar Bass Drum

The TAMA Imperialstar bass drum is available in three different models.

The IMB18RL (pictured to the right with bass drum lifter) that is 18″ in diameter and 14″ in depth, the IMB20E that is 20″ in diameter and 18″ in depth and the IMSB22E that is 22″ in diameter and 18″ in depth.

Included with the kit is a generic bass drum pedal.

Pictured below are a few of the TAMA Imperialstar shell finishes. Not pictured are the Midnight Blue and Vintage Red finishes.
