Yamaha DTXPRESS Variations Review and Price Range

The last model of the DTXPRESS was the IV (4) version. The following pertains to this model. The DTXPRESS IV electronic drum set varied based on rack used trigger pads and hi-hat controller. The Standard sets came with the compact RS70 rack while the Special came with the RS85. The special was also different in that it came with a TP100 3-zone snare and RHH130 real hi-hat pad and HS650 stand. The only difference between the V1 and V2 is that the V2 included upgraded cymbal pads. The DTXPRESS IV was priced at $800 to $1000depending on the setup, putting it in the mid-range of electric drum kits. This is a good set for the value that provides the drummer a lot of options.

DXPIV Trigger Module

Prior to the IV model, the DTXPRESS came with the DTXPU trigger module. The updated DXPIV module included 427 drum and percussion sounds, along with 50 preloaded drum kits and 20 custom slots available.

The DTXPRESS module also includes DTX module standard features such as, play along songs, MIDI Out and AUX in. Also included are Yamaha’s popular instruction tools including Groove Check, Rhythm Gate and Challenge Mode.
